Excitement, butterflies, new hair-do, new clothes, the energy of a child; but this wasn't my frist day of grade school, it was my first day as a Future Professional at Paul Mitchell!
I couldn't believe I had Finally made my deam a reality, it took many years but it has definately been worth the wait. The all black dress code put Paul Mitchell Future Professionals in a world that is stylish, current, and lets everyone know your someone to be noticed.
Immediately, I was wrapped up in the fraternity that is Paul Mitchell. You would think being surrounded by so many new people, it would be intimidating; and yes tehre are some butterflies, but beacuse you can see how passionate everyone is about their craft is puts you at ease.
On day one so much information gets thrown at you; however, my learning leader made the experience so enjoyable. She was real, in your face, and completely approachable. Day one could have been completely unbearable but it wasn't! It as a long first day for sure but it was so fun.
On day two, I was sitting in my chair thinking "This can't be a legitimate field!?! I'm cutting out pictures from magazines as research in class!!" Obviously, when your in the cosmetology field how else can you stay as current as possible? So I understand the reasoning but believe me it does not take a way from the "this is totally cool" feeling.
As we started our hands on training of a finger-wave, the realization that I am actually in school for this starts to settle in. This is happening, and it's exciting, and fun but also a whole lot of practice and work.
